Front of the House
You know more than anyone that the impression your staff makes is important. And after your guests have noticed the smile on the face of your server, they notice what he or she is wearing. Don’t take a chance with that first impression.
Whether your server is wearing a serving jacket, a vest, or a t-shirt, the way it looks and fits is important. Jackets should be neatly pressed. T-shirts should fit (no bellies hanging out unless that’s your brand image). And your logo should be tastefully displayed.
Aprons should be appropriate for the uniform worn. Perhaps a three pocket apron is best for bars and diners. A bistro apron may be more appropriate for more up-scale restaurants.
